storage – protection – order
Rituals are repeated actions originating from obsessive thinking and a fear of losing control.
To some extent we all exist in a state of perpetual chaos and this project was my way to reorganise my house to establish a sense of order and balance.
As a starting point I drew a plan of my home showing the precise positions of all the movable objects. I then highlighted only those objects that are essential and that I use frequently. Finally, I removed the physical structures altogether leaving the objects ready to be organised into a my new minimal space.

Because they didn’t have their own specific space I made a bespoke cast in fiberglass for each of the three drawers so that each object had it’s own specific space. The top drawer: “OBJECTS FROM EMPTY POCKETS”. The second drawer: “TECHNOLOGICAL ITEMS”. The third: “STATIONARY”.
